— Former TCU standout Josh Elander has been added to Arkansas' baseball staff as a volunteer assistant.

Elander was a freshman All-American for the Horned Frogs in 2010 and a sixth-round MLB Draft pick by the Atlanta Braves. In 2013, he was named the Braves' minor league player of the year.

He returned to TCU last season to finish his undergraduate degree and served as a student assistant coach on the Horned Frogs' College World Series team. Among the players he coached was Zack Plunkett, who transferred from TCU to Arkansas earlier this month.

Elander is expected to help coach catchers for the Razorbacks. He replaces former Arkansas pitcher Christian Kowalchuk as the team's volunteer coach.

Past Arkansas volunteer coaches have included UALR head coach Chris Curry and Wichita State hitting coach Brian Walker.
