Arkansas to play Southern Illinois in hoops

— Arkansas is scheduled to play Southern Illinois on Nov. 14, at Bud Walton Arena, according to the Salukis' schedule released Wednesday.

The game is believed to be part of the Golden Gopher Showcase, an exempt tournament hosted by Minnesota. The Razorbacks will also play Minnesota, and are expected to play Texas-Arlington and Mount Saint Mary's as part of the event, according to sources.

No dates have been announced, but all games must be played in November, according to the Razorbacks' contract for the event that was obtained by WholeHogSports.

Southern Illinois and Arkansas last played in 2006 at the Old Spice Classic. The Razorbacks lead the all-time series 3-2.

The Salukis were 22-10 overall and 11-7 in the Missouri Valley Conference, but did not play in the postseason.
