Jacksonville police on Monday arrested a man they accused of setting his ex-girlfriend’s car on fire.

Officers were called about 10:35 p.m. to a residence at 16 Cherry St., just north of Graham Road. Sharon Green said she had smelled gasoline, looked outside and saw her ex-boyfriend Antonio Freeman standing next to her vehicle, according to an arrest report. Freeman then drove away, and Green called police.

Green looked out her window again and saw that Freeman, 35, had returned and that her vehicle was on fire, the report states.

No injuries were reported.

Freeman, of North Little Rock, was charged with arson and theft by receiving. He was additionally charged with second-degree stalking, a felony. Green told police that Freeman “has been harassing her for a while and will not leave her alone,” according to the report.

Freeman was being held in the Pulaski County jail Tuesday.
