Old Wire Road work requires detour

SPRINGDALE -- Construction work on Arkansas 265 requires a detour and closinge of Old Wire Road in Lowell and Bethel Heights to traffic.

On Thursday, temporary barricades will restrict through traffic from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Old Wire Road, beginning at Apple Blossom Avenue and extending to Arkansas 264, according to Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department officials.

The work is expected to take a few days, weather permitting.

Crossland Construction Co. of Columbus, Kan., was awarded the $15.4 million contract for moving the highway. The project constructs about 4 miles of three-lane Arkansas 265, which extends from Pleasant Grove Road to Arkansas 264, south of Rogers and east of Lowell.
