COOKING CLASSES

Pulaski Technical College's community education department will offer a series of "cooking for wellness" classes this fall taught by Dr. Meenakshi Budhraja, a Little Rock gastroenterologist, and Connelly Weeks, a registered dietitian nutritionist.

• Cooking on a Budget, Oct. 14, will focus on creating nutritious meals on an average of $4 a day without using cheap fast foods or refined carbohydrates.

• Cooking to Reverse Type 2 Diabetes, Nov. 4, focuses on a plant-based diet to help reverse Type II diabetes.

• Anti-Inflammatory Diet Cooking Course, Dec. 2, will address using herbs and spices to maximize the nutrient density of meals without adding calories. The class focuses on the management of inflammation using spices such as turmeric, ginger, cayenne, cinnamon and cloves.

All classes will be held from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at Pulaski Technical College's Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Institute, 13000 Interstate 30 in Little Rock. The cost is $75 per class.
