A Hope man is accused of having a sexual relationship with a child younger than age 14, according to police.
Jonathon Trotter, 28, was arrested Friday on two counts of rape, after an investigation into suspected sexual contact with the minor, the Hope Police Department said in a news release Tuesday.
Additional information regarding the arrest, as well as the investigation, was not available.
Trotter was being held at the Hempstead County jail Tuesday afternoon while awaiting his first court appearance, police said.
