Arkansas man accused of running over ex-wife with tractor pleads innocent

FAYETTEVILLE -- A Springdale man accused of running over his ex-wife with a tractor and leaving her alone for six hours before seeking medical help for her pleaded innocent Wednesday to a charge of attempted capital murder in Washington County Circuit Court.

Greeley Phillips, 43, was given a court date of Oct. 17 before Circuit Judge Mark Lindsay. Phillips also is accused of violating terms of probation from a previous domestic battery conviction.

The disturbance involving the tractor took place July 24 at 22236 Butler Ford Road, according to court documents.

Julie Phillips suffered a fractured jawbone and skull, several lacerations and possible damage to her left eye, according to police. Her injuries were "possibly caused by being run over by a tractor and physical altercation."

Greeley Phillips is being held in the Washington County jail with bail set at $15,000.
