Man critical after being found unconscious on Arkansas railroad tracks

Jacksonville police are investigating after an unconscious man was found lying facedown on railroad tracks Thursday afternoon.

According to a news release, Union Pacific Railroad employees called police at 3:48 p.m. after they found the unidentified man. April Kiser, a spokesman for the department, said the workers found the man on the tracks in the area of 800 Redmond Road.

The man was unconscious when officers arrived, and the release said he had sustained a head injury. Kiser said he was still in critical condition at a local hospital as of Friday morning.

The investigation is ongoing.
