Photographic Society Moves To Bentonville

There's an estate sale of sorts going on Saturday at 126 W. Emma Ave. in Springdale. The Springdale location of the Photographic Society of Northwest Arkansas studio is passing on to Bentonville.

"It was a great studio location for the time we had it, but we feel more excited about the move to the Bentonville location where the arts have a greater focus in the community," says Jay Stout, chairman of the nonprofit.

From 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, the organization will be selling used props, backdrops, equipment, office furniture and other items not slated for the move.

"The setup in Bentonville will be a little smaller and will concentrate on giving our members the opportunity to continue to pursue their photography in a studio environment," Stout says.

"The new facility will be available for use by those with extended memberships," says Melissa Jones, the PSNWA media liaison. "For a low monthly membership fee, extended members [will still] get access to a fully equipped photography studio, complete with lights, backdrops, props and a makeup room. Members also get access to free or discounted classes, workshops and photography events."

"Closing down this studio/gallery will be emotional to many of our members as they have put their heart and soul into making this a great place for all that come through the door," Stout adds.
