WASHINGTON COUNTY

Cross Church in Fayetteville, 3484 Wedington Drive, offers a six-week session of the Art of Marriage, meeting from 5 to 7 p.m. each Sunday from Sept. 11 to Oct. 16. The class meets on the east side of Arvest Bank.

Topics include God's purpose for marriage, overcoming isolation, fulfilling responsibilities, communication, conflict resolution, intimacy and leaving a legacy. Cost is $35 per couple, and free child care is available.

Robinson Avenue Church of Christ in Springdale, 1506 W. Robinson Ave., offers the GriefShare support group from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. every Wednesday, beginning Sept. 7. DivorceCare support group runs from 4 to 5:30 p.m. every Sunday, starting Sept. 11. Babysitting is available for both programs.

DivorceCare for Kids, for children in the first to sixth grades, runs from 6:45 to 8:15 p.m. every Wednesday, starting Sept. 14.

First United Methodist Church in Springdale, 206 W. Johnson Ave., offers Covenant Connections, a meal and fellowship, at 6 p.m. each Wednesday, beginning Sept. 7 in the Family Life Center. Youth in grades six to 12 attend Roots, and children in kindergarten through fifth grade attend Spark Recharge.

The church offers a women's Bible study, "The Armor of God" by Priscilla Shirer, at 5 p.m. each Sunday from Sept. 11 to Oct. 23.

A couples communication class is offered at 6 p.m. each Monday from Sept. 19 to Oct. 10. Cost is $100.

GriefShare meets each Tuesday from Sept. 20 to Dec. 13. Cost is $10.

Mount Sequoyah Assembly in Fayetteville, 150 N. Skyline Drive, hosts the United Methodist Study School on Sept. 6-13, offering core courses for those working toward ministry with the United Methodist Church.

The South Central Jurisdiction Mission Academy is Sept. 11-14 and will include offerings from the United Methodist Volunteers in Mission. The academy is for Mission Journey participants, the United Methodist Committee on Relief for Disaster Response, as well as others interested but not part of the denomination.

First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Bentonville, 807 S.E. 14th St., plans a series of discussions between Don Morrow, the church pastor, and leaders of the Hindu, Muslim, Jewish, Orthodox faiths and atheist ideologies. The first discussion Sept. 14 includes the entire panel speaking on religion and violence.

The Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista, 1880 Forest Hills Blvd., holds an all-church picnic at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 8 at Blowing Springs Park in Bella Vista.

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Rogers, 1101 W. Hudson Road, presents the youth of the church, giving a report of their trip to the 2016 National Youth Gathering of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod in New Orleans, during the 9:30 a.m. Sunday school hour this week in the chapel.

The church offers a free seminar, "Equipping to Share: A Culture of Outreach" about sharing the Christian faith, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 9. Lunch will be provided, but reservations are requested by Sept. 6.

New Life Christian Church in Bella Vista, 103 Riordan Road, will hold registration for Life Groups on Sunday. Life groups are small Bible study groups that meet during the week at various locations.

The church sponsors an all-church barbecue picnic at 5 p.m. Sunday at the Kingsdale park and pavilion in Bella Vista. A mini-golf tournament and swimming are planned before the event.

New Life Students kickoff their fall activities Aug. 31, with the cafe open from 5 to 8 p.m. and worship at 6 p.m.

The church plans a Mission Fair on the morning of Sept. 11, with representatives of the church's 19 mission partners around the world.

The Neighborhood Church in Bentonville, 2003 S.W. Regional Airport Road, holds a ministry fair after services Sunday. Participating church ministries include the men's ministry, the women's ministry, sports ministry, service, small group and care ministry.

The church holds an open house for the student ministry (grades 7 to 12) and the junior youth (grades 5 and 6) from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Sweet Life Cafe women's ministry plans the Women's Intreat 2016 from 6 p.m. Sept. 16 to noon Sept. 17. Cost is $45 per person, benefiting the Northwest Arkansas Women's Shelter.

The United Lutheran Church of Bella Vista, 100 Cooper Road, plans a Rally Day, golf outing and church picnic beginning after the 9:30 a.m. worship Sept. 11. The picnic begins at 4 p.m. in Luther Hall.

During September, the church collects items for New Beginnings Children's Home. Needed items include diapers, baby wipes, tear-free shampoo, liquid hand soap, Multi-Grain or Honey Nut Cheerios, canned goods, canned fruit, paper towels, shampoo and conditioner.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church, 1990 Forest Hills Blvd., holds a worship service at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 6 for those unable to attend a regularly scheduled service. Lunch is served following the service, and transportation is available.

Granny's Quilts of Love group presents the annual auction and dinner today at Pea Ridge High School. The meal is served from 5 to 7 p.m., and the auction starts at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $6 for adults, $4 for children 12 and younger and free for children younger than 2.

The church offers the men's Discipleship class at 1 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. each Monday, starting Sept. 12.

The Shepherd's Food Pantry serves from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Friday. Donations are needed of cooking oil, sugar and flour.

Rogers First Church of the Nazarene, 4911 W. Pleasant Grove Road, presents an emergency preparedness seminar for places of worship today. The event is hosted by Security Preparedness Solutions. Vendors open at 7:30 a.m., and the seminar sessions run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cost is $50, and includes a catered lunch.

Breakout sessions include questions with local police chiefs, security technology, safety teams, response to violence and active shooters.
