Justus Fine Art Gallery Exhibit

HOT SPRINGS — The September exhibit at the Justus Fine Art Gallery, 827A Central Ave., will showcase new work by textile artist Jennifer Libby Fay, with selections from her recent solo exhibit Tentative Resolve. New painted paper on canvas Striations, by Donnie Copeland, will also be featured, along with work by Robyn Horn, Dolores Justus and others. The exhibit will open with a reception from 5-9 p.m. Friday in conjunction with the monthly Hot Springs Gallery Walk. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday or by appointment. Salt Bowl

LITTLE ROCK — The Annual Salt Bowl, the Benton Panthers vs. the Bryant Hornets, will begin at 7:30 p.m. at War Memorial Stadium. Tickets can be purchased in advance at area Big Red stores for $10 each and include a Salt Bowl T-shirt. Tickets purchased at the gate for $8 each will not include a T-shirt. Lecture on Dinosaurs

HOT SPRINGS — Joseph C. Daniel will present a lecture on dinosaurs at 1:30 and 3 p.m. in the classroom at the Mid-America Science Museum, 500 Mid-America Blvd. Daniel is an instructor at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, a part-time instructor at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and the founder of paleoaerie.org. He will discuss new developments with the Tyrannosaurus and other dinosaurs, and other fun topics. The lectures are open to the public and free to members. Guests must pay general admission. The Fine Art of Crafts Exhibit

ARKADELPHIA — The Fine Art of Crafts: Showcasing Area Artisans is on exhibit through Sept. 23 at the Arkadelphia Arts Center, 625 Main St. Nearly 200 items of various art forms will be represented in the show. Free Exercise Classes

ARKADELPHIA — The Central Arkansas Development Council’s Arkadelphia Senior Activity Center invites the public to a free Zumba class at 11 a.m. every Wednesday at the center, 1305 N. 10th St. The class is taught by a local fitness instructor and is geared for seniors ages 60 and older. Ageless Bikers Club

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — The Ageless Bikers Club has 10 different bike rides that are 16 to 35 miles long. The rides start at 8 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. The rides are on quiet, paved country roads (one ride has up to 3 miles of gravel). No one is left behind, and the group stops often to regroup and socialize. BRYANT — The Benton Seventh-day Adventist Church will host a Health Expo from noon to 7 p.m. Sept. 4 at Bishop Park. The free event will feature health assessments that include screenings for cardiovascular fitness, body-fat percentage, lung capacity, blood pressure, blood glucose and cholesterol. Rock’n Hot Ride

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — Bike MS: Rock’n Hot Ride 2016 will begin at 7:30 a.m. Sept. 10 at Garver in North Little Rock. The ride is a two-day, 126-mile journey from North Little Rock to Hot Springs Village and back. Day 2 of the ride will begin at 7:30 a.m. Sept. 11 at the Woodlands Auditorium in Hot Springs Village. VFW Post Open House

BENTON — Raymond McGill Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2256 will host an open house from 5:30-7 p.m. Sept. 12 at 5323 Sleepy Village Road. Genealogy Workshop

Birch 5K Run for Recovery

BENTON — The fourth annual Birch 5K Run for Recovery and 1-Mile Walk for Wellness will begin at 8 a.m. Sept. 24 at 1502 Mary Kay Blvd. The event supports members of Birch Tree Communities Inc. and its wellness program, which focuses on improving health needs. The event encourages the community to help support individuals with mental-health issues. Preregistration fees are $20 for the 5K and $10 for the 1-mile walk; fees on the day of the race are $25 and $15, respectively.
