A Jonesboro man was found Sunday evening passed out in a car in the drive-thru pharmacy of a local Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market, according to police.

The man, 37-year-old Andy Thomas, was incoherent and had trouble staying awake after authorities arrived at the store in the 3300 block of Harrisburg Road around 6:30 p.m. that day, a report states.

In his 2001 Pontiac Bonneville, officers found a small plastic bag containing what a responding officer said appeared to be 2 grams of methamphetamine in plain sight, police said. A search of the vehicle's ash tray also yielded a small bag with around 0.2 grams of marijuana.

Thomas was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana and transported to the Craighead County jail, according to authorities.

He remained at the jail as of Monday afternoon awaiting a probable cause hearing, records show.
