A single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on a rain-soaked highway in Hot Spring County left a passenger dead and its driver injured Sunday, according to Arkansas State Police.
The accident occurred around 2:56 p.m. that day when Billy Weaver, 59, of Benton lost control of his westbound 2016 Harley-Davidson motorcycle at a curve on Arkansas 222 near Donaldson, state police said in a preliminary report.

Authorities said the motorcycle then crossed the highway's centerline, injuring Weaver and killing passenger Relda Steelman, 52, of Hot Springs Village.
Steelman's death was the 340th reported by state police on an Arkansas road so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
