Work on U.S. 64 to require detours

Repairs to a drainage system will require the overnight closure of a section of U.S. 64 west of Parkin in Cross County on Tuesday, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said.

The work will require U.S. 64 between Wynne and Parkin to be closed from 11 p.m. Tuesday until 5 a.m. Wednesday, weather permitting. Motorists traveling on U.S. 64 will be required to follow one of two alternative routes:

The eastbound detour is Arkansas 163 north to Birdeye, Arkansas 42 east to Coldwater and then Arkansas 75 south to U.S. 64.

The westbound detour is Arkansas 75 north to Coldwater, Arkansas 42 west to Birdeye and then Arkansas 163 south to U.S. 64.
