Head-on collision on Arkansas highway kills 1, injures 3

A head-on crash in the rain killed an Arkansas woman and injured three others — including two minors — Monday afternoon on Arkansas 130 north of DeWitt.

According to an Arkansas State Police crash report, 31-year-old Sue Williams of Almyra was driving a 2003 Cadillac Deville south on the highway at 3 p.m. Her car crossed the highway's centerline and collided head-on with a northbound 2012 GMC Sierra, the report said.

The Arkansas County coroner pronounced Williams dead at the scene, state police said. Two minors riding in the Cadillac, one from Almyra and one from DeWitt, were hurt in the crash. Their ages weren't included in the report.

The Sierra's driver, 61-year-old Noel Bracewell, was also injured.

Police listed the road conditions as wet and raining when the crash occurred. Williams' death was the 342nd fatality in a traffic crash so far this year, according to preliminary reports.
