ARKADELPHIA — Sophomore Jonathan Lagrange scored on a 3-yard run with 6:04 remaining and the Lions held on for a victory over the Knights at Cliff Harris Stadium.
Centerpoint drove to the Mount Ida 17 on its ensuing possession with 2:17 to play but ran out of downs. Mount Ida ran seven plays to run out the clock.
Lagrange’s touchdown — his third of the game — capped a 14-play, 69-yard drive that started after the Knights fumbled on the final play of the third quarter.
Centerpoint led 12-7 at the half, but Lagrange scored on a 2-yard run to cap a 13-play, 72-yard drive.
The Knights retook the lead 12 seconds later when Keenan Owens hit Logan Taylor on a 54-yard touchdown pass. Centerpoint appeared on its way to increasing its lead, but a fumble ended the threat.
Lagrange also scored on a 2-yard run in the first half.
