Little Rock police arrested a woman Tuesday they say shot her boyfriend earlier this month after a dispute over money.

Officer Richard Hilgeman, a spokesman for Little Rock police, said the task force made up of Little Rock officers and U.S. marshals apprehended Audrey Marion, 29, of Little Rock in the northwest part of the city.

Ben Brown, 35, told police that Marion shot him in the right leg shortly after 4 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Shadow Lake Apartments. The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette previously reported that Marion accused Brown of stealing $75 from her.

Shantell Brown, Ben Brown’s sister, told police that she saw Marion hold a gun to his head before hearing a gunshot. The police report said she heard several more shots after her brother got into her apartment. Police found Ben Brown lying behind an open refrigerator door with a towel over his leg after arriving on the scene at 1311 W. Markham St.

Marion was wanted on charges of first-degree battery and first-degree terroristic threatening.

Brown was treated at a local hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening.
