Nothing quite measures up to the latest tribute to retiring Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz.

Adam Scott, of Australia, waves to the crowd after winning the Honda Classic golf tournament with a 9-under-par, Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016, in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

A corn maze dedicated to the player known as Big Papi was unveiled at a ceremony Tuesday in Sterling, Mass.

Ortiz had a message for his legions of fans at the unveiling: "I love corn."

The 8-acre maze was created by Davis Mega Maze and features a cornstalk rendering of Ortiz's trademark home run pose of pointing two fingers to the sky. It's accompanied by the phrase, "Thanks Big Papi."

The maze opens to the public Saturday.

Davis Mega Maze has been carving a different design into the field every year for about 20 years. This year marks the first time a living celebrity has been featured.

Money shot

Adam Scott has thought about winning the FedEx Cup since he won back-to-back in Florida, and his desire has nothing to do with the $10 million bonus. His motivation in golf is beating everyone who enters the tournaments.

"I try not to play golf thinking about money at all," Scott said. "If I did, and you told me 3-foot putts are worth $500,000, I probably wouldn't be able to play. So I try and play golf not thinking about money or having it have any influence on my decisions."

That's a good thing.

Because when Scott finished up at The Barclays, he had a 3-foot putt on the final hole for a 70 that would have put him in a tie for second.

He missed it.

The cost of missing that putt was just over $300,000.

Standing O

The Chicago Cubs won on a walk-off, bases-loaded single in the 13th inning against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday. That definitely made Wrigley Field excited.

But perhaps the biggest ovation of the night came after Jake Arrieta struck out swinging in the fourth inning. He got a standing ovation from the Wrigley faithful after he battled Pirates starter Steven Brault during a 14-pitch at-bat. He fouled off eight consecutive pitches, and he hit a ball 109 mph into the stands.

Brady's must-nots

From Cindy Boren of the Washington Post:

"Deflategate is truly, finally going to takes the final steps of its pathetic existence when Tom Brady begins the four-game suspension imposed by Commissioner Roger Goodell.

"Because the last thing anyone wants to see is Deflategate being dragged out by a mistake, NFL rules command that Brady SIMPLY MUST NOT:

"m Attend or watch practice.

"m Show up at the Patriots' facility.

"m Have any contact with any team personnel.

"m Exchange game plans, playbooks, plays or videos on any electronic device.

"m Engage in football-related activities or discussions with teammates, even away from the facility. This would include workouts and running drills.

"m Go to the stadium as a spectator or travel to road games.

"m Attend press conferences [which is the real tragedy because all Patriots' personnel love those]."
