Inmate accused of filing false police report

BENTONVILLE -- An inmate in the Benton County Jail was arrested after falsely accusing a Rogers police officer of sexual and aggravated assault, according to a Thursday night news release from the Benton County Sheriff's Office.

Patrick Lewis Hubbard, 43, of Springdale was arrested in connection with filing a false police report, a Class D felony. He was being held in jail on a $20,000 bond.

According to the release, Hubbard was arrested Nov. 2 for an outstanding warrant out of the Rogers Police Department for robbery and theft of property.

Detectives with the Benton County Sheriff's Office received a message on Nov. 28 through the inmate message system, according to the release. Hubbard claimed in the message the Rogers police officer that arrested him had sexually assaulted him and held a gun to his head.

Hubbard is scheduled to appear in court for the filing a false police report case at 8 a.m. Jan. 9 in Circuit Judge Brad Karren's court.
