Hogs streak past Governors

FAYETTEVILLE -- Arkansas put together its most complete game of the season in pounding Austin Peay 99-62 Saturday night in Walton Arena.

Freshman forward Adrio Bailey led the Razorbacks (6-1) with 14 points on 7-of-8 shooting and had 7 rebounds.

Arkansas senior center Moses Kingsley had 13 points, 7 rebounds, a career-high 5 assists and 4 blocked shots.

Senior guard Dusty Hannahs scored 13 points for the Razorbacks, junior guard Jaylen Barford had 12 and freshman C.J. Jones 11.

Senior guard John Murry led Austin Peay (4-4) with 23 points. Sophomore guard Josh Robinson, who came into the game averaging 23.3 points, scored 9 points and shot 3 of 14 from the field.

The Razorbacks outscored the Governors 21-0 to push their lead to 71-37 with 12:10 left.

Six Razorbacks scored during the run, which started with two free throws by senior guard Manny Watkins.

Junior guard Daryl Macon and Kingsley had dunks on back-to-back possessions, then Kingsley, junior guard Anton Beard and Hannahs hit three-pointer baskets for a 69-37 lead.

A layup by Beard made it 71-37.

The Razorbacks led 82-41 with 8:38 left after Beard hit two free throws.

Arkansas Coach Mike Anderson went with his third different starting combination this season with Barford and Macon back in the lineup after coming off the bench the previous two games. They replaced Hannahs and Beard.

It was the first game Hannahs didn't start this season.

The Razorbacks led 41-31 at halftime after Austin Peay outscored Arkansas 11-4 in the final 4:07 of the first half, including nine points by John Murry.

The Razorbacks led 37-20 after Macon's layup with 5:12 left in the half.

Barford scored seven points as Arkansas jumped out to 12-5 lead.

Austin Peay tied it 12-12 on Robinson's three-point play.

Watkins scored on a floater in the lane to put the Razorbacks ahead 14-12.

Murray's three-point play gave the Governors a 15-14 lead.

Arkansas outscored Austin Peay 21-3 over a 4:43 span to move ahead 35-18 with 6:01 left in the half.

Trey Thompson started the run with a layup to give Arkansas a 16-15 lead.

Hannahs hit a three-point basket -- after missing his previous nine attempts from beyond the arc -- to make it 27-17.

Jones capped the run with back-to-back three-point baskets.

Arkansas improved to 53-2 in nonconference games in Walton Arena in Anderson's six seasons. The two losses in that span were to Syracuse during the 2012-2013 season and Akron last season.

The Razorbacks play former Southwest Conference rival Houston Tuesday night in Walton Arena.
