North Dakota St. remains on track

FARGO, N.D. — Easton Stick threw three touchdown passes and North Dakota State beat San Diego 45-7 on Saturday and took another step toward winning a sixth consecutive NCAA Football Championship Subdivision championship.

The top-seeded Bison (11-1) will get a chance to avenge their only loss when they host to South Dakota State in the quarterfinals next week. South Dakota State beat North Dakota State 19-17 on the last play of the game in the regular-season meeting at Fargo.

Stick completed 12 of 20 passes for 208 yards and ran 4 times for 99 yards.

The Toreros (10-2) finally scored on Anthony Lawrence’s 1-yard touchdown pass to Ross Dwelley with 6:56 left in the third quarter.

In other FCS playoff games, Jody Webb rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns, including a 50-yarder in the third quarter, and Youngstown State (10-3) knocked off third-seeded Jacksonville State (10-2) 40-24 in Jacksonville, Fla.
