Suspect in Little Rock robbery arrested after chase

A man suspected of trying to rob a gas station in Little Rock led Arkansas State Police on a vehicle chase Friday morning, according to an arrest report.

Chad Eugene Guess, 42, is accused of trying to steal cash from a Phillips 66 at 8824 Fourche Dam Pike. Police said a gas station employee fought off a robber who fled in a maroon pickup, empty-handed.

There were no injuries.

Arkansas State Police chased the pickup to Arkansas 15 south of Bearskin Lake Road in Scott, the report states. The vehicle was abandoned in a muddy field and the driver, identified as Guess, tried to flee on foot before troopers arrested him about 9 a.m.

Guess was charged with robbery, fleeing, resisting arrest, reckless driving, driving with a suspended license and numerous other traffic violations.

Guess of Sherwood was being held in the Pulaski County jail Saturday.
