A Little Rock woman awoke early Sunday to a robber pointing a rifle at two of her grandchildren while others in the house slept, police said.

The 62-year-old woman told police that two robbers were inside her home on Nantucket Circle a little after 3 a.m., according to a report. One of them woke her up by tapping on her shoulder, she told police. He then told her to keep quiet by holding his finger over his mouth, police said.

The other robber was standing behind a couch, pointing a rifle at the grandchildren -- ages 9 and 11, the report said.

"You don't want nothing to happen to your grandchildren," the man said, according to police.

The first robber, the one who woke up the woman, took $800, a debit card, medication and syringe needles from her purse, the report said.

Police said the four other people in the house -- a 30-year-old woman, a 37-year-old man, a 15-year-old and a 1-year-old -- stayed asleep during the robbery.

The robbers, both described as black and male, left through the front door, the report said. It was unclear what direction the robbers went after that, the report said.

Investigators determined that they likely entered the house through the rear sliding door, which was damaged. Officers searched the area but failed to find them.

Strip-club robbery ends in 2 arrests

Two Arkansas men were arrested after, Jacksonville police said, they robbed a pair of women outside a strip club Sunday morning.

An officer arrived at Peaches Gentlemen's Club, 2221 W. Main St., at 5:22 a.m. after getting a call about a robbery, according to a police report.

The officer spoke with two women who said they were getting into a vehicle outside the business when an armed man approached and demanded money. One of the women handed over her purse, which she said contained about $470, the report said.

Two of the club's employees said they watched the robber leave the parking lot in a newer model, four-door car, so they followed the vehicle until police were able to pull it over on U.S. 67/167 shortly after 7:30 a.m., the report said.

Police arrested two people in the car: 21-year-old Demond Alexander Washington and 26-year-old Derodgenae Darnell Rainey, both of North Little Rock. Another man was reported to be in the car at the time but was not arrested. Officers also said they found a handgun in the vehicle.

Both Washington and Rainey face charges of aggravated robbery, theft of property and possession of a firearm by certain persons. A court date is scheduled for Dec. 15.

Woman tries to rob 3 in Park Plaza lot

A woman armed with a handgun tried to rob three other women of their purses Saturday morning in a parking garage at Park Plaza in Little Rock, authorities said.

The three victims told investigators that someone approached them about 10:30 a.m. on the second level of the garage on the mall's north side, according to a police report.

The person pointed a handgun and said, "Ladies, all I need is your purses," according to the report. The victims yelled that the woman was armed with a gun and ran to the mall's entrance, the report said. The robber then "turned around nonchalantly" and got into the passenger seat of a Mitsubishi Outlander, the victims told police.

Authorities searched for the vehicle, but no arrests had been made at the time of the report.

The robber is described as a white woman who stood 5 foot 7 inches and weighed about 200 pounds. She was wearing a dark coat, distressed jeans and a ball cap. No injuries were reported.

Authorities on Monday identified one of two victims who were shot Sunday at a house in south Pulaski County.

Martin Flores, 21, was wounded in the leg while a 17-year-old boy suffered a gunshot wound in the chest during a shooting at 12526 Ironton Cut-Off Road on Sunday afternoon, authorities said. The sheriff's office did not identify the 17-year-old victim.

Deputies were called to the scene about 2:55 p.m. and found one shooting victim on the front porch and another in the house, according to a report.

Three black males had arrived at the house and asked to see somebody who did not live there before opening fire, a sheriff's office spokesman said.

The group then fled the scene in a white Lincoln Town Car, he said.

Authorities said they had not made any arrests in the shooting as of Monday evening.
