Arkansas Index sees 13 stocks advance

The Arkansas Index, a price-weighted index that tracks the largest public companies based in the state, climbed 6.65 to 375.92 Wednesday, its highest level since June 2015.

The index is up almost 22 percent for the year.

Thirteen stocks advanced Wednesday, and three declined.

America's Car-Mart, Deltic Timber, Home BancShares, J.B. Hunt Transport and Simmons First National again reached 52-week highs.

Total volume for the index was 20.9 million shares.

The index was developed by Bloomberg News and the Democrat-Gazette with a base value of 100 as of Dec. 30, 1997.
