Little Rock man arrested in shooting that left 23-year-old woman paralyzed, police say

Little Rock police Wednesday arrested a 29-year-old man in an October shooting that left a woman paralyzed, according to a police report.

Michael Jones of Little Rock was arrested Wednesday at 7700 Scott Hamilton Drive, near Interstate 30, and was charged with first-degree battery in the Oct. 5 shooting, according to the report.

Jones is accused of shooting 23-year-old Genaka Collins, who was injured after shots were fired at the vehicle in which she was traveling, according to previous reports.

According to a previous report, Collins was found sitting in a passenger seat of a car in the driveway of a home on Longcoy Street with a gunshot wound in her lower back.

The shooting left Collins paralyzed, according to the report.

Jones was listed on Pulaski County jail's inmate roster Wednesday night.
