Historians

The Benton County Historical Society will meet at 2:30 p.m. today at the Gravette Historical Museum, 503 Charlotte St. Guest speaker will be Steve Mitchael, who helped establish the Gravette Historical Museum in 1995 and was active in the preservation and renovation of the Kindley House as its current home. He is now chairman of the Gravette Historical Museum Commission and continues to be active in the day-to-day operations of the museum.

Squares

The Kingsdale Squares will dance at 7 p.m. Monday at Riordan Hall in Bella Vista with Shawn Greer calling.

Lessons will be given from 5:45 to 7 p.m. Jan. 9 at Riordan Hall. There will be 10 to 12 lessons, depending on how the group progresses. The cost is $35 with the first two lessons free. Learn to square dance, have fun, exercise, relieve stress, make new friends and keep your mind sharp.

Computers

Using Skype to connect with family and friends will be explored at 7 p.m. Monday during the meeting of the Bella Vista Computer Club in Room A at Highlands Crossing Center, 1801 Forest Hills Blvd. in Bella Vista. Justin Sell from Bella Vista Computer Services will present the program and address technology questions.

An open house help clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 21. Help clinics are a free service for computer club members.

Christians

"It's Christmas!" is the theme for the Bentonville Rogers Christian Women's Connection luncheon that will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday in the student building behind Northwest Assembly at 2202 S. Walton Blvd. in Bentonville.

Alene Betts, the speaker, will present "It's Christmas -- Never Say Never," and there will be a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, as well.

This is a nondenominational group, and programs are presented by Stonecroft Ministries. A catered lunch will be provided for $11, and free childcare is available for the luncheon.

Women of Washington County are invited to attend the meeting of the Christian Women's Connection Group from noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mermaids Restaurant in Fayetteville. Betts will speak, and her husband will also participate with some special music.

Please bring a wrapped gift, valued at $5 or less, to take part in a special Christmas gift exchange. The cost of the luncheon is $15. Walk-ins are welcome.

Granny's Quilts

Granny's Quilts of Love will meet at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church, 1300 N. Davis St. in Pea Ridge. The group will be cutting batting. Due to illness, the Christmas brunch has been canceled. There will be a potluck lunch, bring a covered dish and $5-$10 for the donation fund to Arkansas Children's Hospital.

To date, Granny's members have made 23,260 quilts, 6,968 caps and 6,792 pillows, all donated to Arkansas Children's Hospital.

The Bentonville Garden Club will meet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Peel Mansion Museum and Heritage Gardens. The program will be an auction review and Christmas party.

The Iota Alpha chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will meet at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the home of Kay Nelson in Bella Vista. After a brief meeting, the members will exchange secret sister Christmas gifts. The Northwest Arkansas Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America will hold its 2016 Christmas dinner meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the Lodge at Butterfield Trail Village, 1923 E. Bella Vista Women's Chorus invites singers from the tri-county area to join them with no tryouts or experience needed. Alzheimers

Beginning in January the Alzheimer's Association, in collaboration with the Schmieding Center for Senior Health & Education, presents a support group for those in the early stage of Alzheimer's disease or related dementia and their care partners. This is an eight-week series that will include education on all aspects of dementia and available community resources, as well as supportive discussions.

Meetings will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesdays beginning Jan. 18 at the Schmieding Center in Springdale.
