William (Bill) Fulton

Where I live: My wife, Liz, grandson, Noah, our two dogs and I live in the Heights. Our house was a small one-story house that had a second floor, a den and deck added around 20 years ago.

Occupation: Both Liz and I are retired educators, and I now teach basic drawing and magic for grandparents at LifeQuest of Arkansas. LifeQuest is a school for folks my age, and I love it. As a member of the Arkansas Masters of Illusion, we performed around the state and taught magic at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and later for Adventures in the Arts at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church in Little Rock. This arts program is for kids.

My favorite space is: Our den with my favorite comfy chair. I have created many magic routines and written some of my life stories in that chair.

Why? The room looks great because of my wife's work and artistic eye for creating a livable home. I love the earth-tone colors that she selected. Everything in the room fits our personalities as pack rats (maybe collectors sounds better), and we are surrounded by art that we have created. My wife has the lion's share of the art on display, but I have a special drawing of mine of a cedar tree on Mount Magazine where I proposed to her.

If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: Add more openness and light.
