Texas defensive end Jonathan Marshall of Shepherd, Texas, flipped his commitment from Oklahoma State to Arkansas on Monday after taking an official visit to Fayetteville over the weekend.

He made a private commitment to the Razorback coaches on Sunday.

"I like it, it's real nice," said Marshall, whose lead recruiter is defensive line coach Rory Segrest. "Everything around here is good."

Marshall cited academic support and the football facilities as impressive aspects of his visit.

They also impressed his mother.

"She loved it," Marshall said. "She's Arkansas-down already."

Marshall, 6-4, 275 pounds, is one of the more impressive-looking defensive ends to officially visit Fayetteville in several years.

National recruiting analyst Tom Lemming of CBS Sports Network rates Marshall a three-star prospect. He recorded 71 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, and 5 forced fumbles as a junior.

"I'm very good at the pass rush," he said. "I just need to work on my hands a little bit more and get people's hands off my chest."

Marshall's host, senior-to-be Taiwan Johnson, was persuasive.

"He said it's the best place," Marshall said.

Marshall is Arkansas' No. 21 commitment for the 2016 class. Oral commitments are nonbinding.
