Arkansas State Coach Blake Anderson unveiled a recruiting class Wednesday that included players to fit his team's immediate needs and was well-regarded, according to rankings by various recruiting services.

ASU unveiled a class of 27 players Wednesday. Included in the class were 11 players that are already on campus, five of whom spent last fall on the team. Two of those played in games last season.

"This is really kind of a unique deal," Anderson said. "But it allowed us to stretch the class this year, to make it a little bit bigger, and we needed numbers badly."

Those on campus include receiver Chris Murray and defensive back Chauncey Mason, both of who contributed to ASU last season.

Those two are known as "blueshirts," meaning they didn't get to ASU until last August. Though they were still on scholarship, they signed a grant-in-aid instead of a National Letter of Intent, making them a part of the 2016 class.

Of those ASU received Wednesday were running back Armond Weh-Weh from Scottsdale (Ariz.) Community College and defensive lineman Dajon Emory from Lackawanna (Pa.) Community College.

Emory's was the first letter ASU received Wednesday, but the last commit after Joe Sanders of Highland (Kan.) Community College flipped to Central Florida late.
