An Arkansas man was killed in an accident on U.S. 67 just outside of Hoxie after he crossed the centerline and collided with an oncoming tractor-trailer Wednesday morning, according to a police report.
State police identified the driver killed as Brian Tat Pieri, 51, of Alicia. The driver of the truck, 37-year-old Armel Behrem of St. Louis, was injured and taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Walnut Ridge.
The accident happened abourt 5:45 a.m. Wednesday as Pieri was heading north along U.S. 67, police said.
Police reported that the roads were clear and the weather dry at the time of the crash.
It was the 33rd fatality along Arkansas roads reported this year, according to preliminary Arkansas State Police records.
