Authorities are looking for a man who disappeared after a five-minute pursuit that ended in his truck being found on a flooded road in Jackson County.

Jeremy Wayne Conway, 33, of Bradford fled about 2:03 p.m. Wednesday after deputies initially attempted to pull him over in Newport on a warrant for failure to appear on a felony drug charge, according to the Jackson County sheriff's office.

The sheriff's office said the pursuit began at the intersection of Arkansas 14 and Arkansas 17 in Newport and continued for five minutes until about 2:08 p.m.

Conway's truck was found on a flooded dirt road off Jackson County Road 16 near a slough of water between Vance and Drummond lakes, according to the sheriff's office.

Authorities classified the pursuit as a high-speed chase with speeds reaching more than 100 mph at times.

A manhunt began Wednesday afternoon and continued until about 2 a.m. Thursday. Deputies resumed the search Thursday morning, the sheriff's office said.

Anyone with information regarding Conway's whereabouts is asked to call the sheriff's office at (870) 523-5842.
