Bentonville teenager Thomas Stringfellow has secured a spot in the top 24 on American Idol's 15th and final season.

This season's top 24 — 13 female singers and 11 male singers — was revealed Thursday night after 51 contestants performed in front of an audience during the showcase round.

Stringfellow, 17, performed "Story of My Life" by One Direction.

On Wednesday's episode, Stringfellow sang Christina Perri's "A Thousand Years." The prerecorded episode marked Round 3 of Hollywood Week on the Fox singing competition.

Host Ryan Seacrest said nerves got to some of the contestants, including Stringfellow, who second-guessed one of his last chances to secure a spot in the top 24.

"I messed up," Stringfellow said during Wednesday's episode. "It was probably just the nerves and the [lack of] sleep and the pressure. I just crumbled."

After his rendition of "A Thousand Years," American Idol judge Keith Urban told his fellow judges: "That was a terrible song choice." Meanwhile, judges Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr. said they continued to like Stringfellow.

At the end of Wednesday's episode, 75 contestants were divided into three rooms. One room of contestants was eliminated, though contestants in Stringfellow's room advanced.

American Idol airs at 7 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays on Fox.
