Little Rock man arrested in teen's shooting

A Little Rock man was arrested Wednesday in a shooting of a teenage boy last week, police reported.

Pravies Darrough, 22, was charged with first-degree battery and unlawful discharge of a firearm from a vehicle. He's accused of shooting a 16-year-old boy on Jan. 25 in the 2500 block of West 13th Street.

Officers were on patrol in the area when they heard 20 to 30 gunshots, according to a police report. They searched the area and found a boy lying in the street who'd been shot in the ear and back. He was taken to Arkansas Children's Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.

The boy told investigators he'd been walking down the street when someone in a green Chevrolet Trailblazer fired at him, the report states. Police said two witnesses provided a similar account.

Police arrested Darrough about 5:45 p.m. Wednesday at his home at 10013 Carrie Lane.

He pleaded innocent in the case Thursday morning in Little Rock District Court.

Darrough was being held in the Pulaski County jail in lieu of $150,000 bail.
