FINAL FURLONG

Trainer Rodney Richards said American Dubai will “more than likely” make his stakes debut in the $500,000 Southwest Stakes on Feb. 15, a 1 1/16-mile race that is the second local prep race for the Kentucky Derby. American Dubai made his 3-year-old debut when he finished third in an entry-level allowance/optional claimer race at Oaklawn under jockey Calvin Borel. He led throughout the race before Cutacorner caught him on the outside. American Dubai originally finished second, but was disqualified and dropped to third for interfering with third-place finisher Torrontes. Richards said American Dubai was struck by a dirt clod in the right eye, causing the disqualification. “I think the fractions were a little fast and the tract was a little heavy,” Richards said. “We know our horse was in shape, but it was our first time going two turns. It just caught up to us.” … Streamline is looking toward the $100,000 Bayakoa Stakes for older fillies and mares, on Feb. 14 trainer, Brian Williamson said Thursday. Steamline won the $100,000 Pippin on Jan. 17 to run her career record to 6-0-2 in nine races. “She is pretty useful,” Williamson said. “She’s won on all three surfaces — synthetic, turf and dirt.” … Grade I winner Nickname is among eight horses entered in the $100,000 Martha Washington Stakes for 3-year-old fillies Saturday. Trained by Steve Asmussen, the filly will be making her first start since finishing fourth in the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Oct. 31 at Keeneland. She is scheduled to break from the rail with Corey Nakatani aboard. … Other horses in the Martha Washington are My Master Plan, Ready to Confess, Durango, Dorodansa, Marquee Miss, Lovable Lyss and Red Fern Doll. … My Master Plan is unbeaten in four career starts, including the $100,000 Trapeze Stakes Dec. 13 at Remington Park in her last start. … Trainer Lynn Whiting said Hebronville still had a “mild case” of hives Thursday morning, an allergic skin disorder that caused the multiple-stakes winner to be scratched from Saturday’s $100,000 King Cotton Stakes. Whiting said Hebronville had a “full-blown” case Saturday morning with welts “all over” the 4-year-old colt’s body.
