Where I live: Lakewood in North Little Rock

Occupation: I am the special events coordinator for the Arkansas Foodbank. I am very lucky to be here, and in awe that I get to spend my days surrounded by people working so hard to end hunger in our state. I've been here a little over a year, and I still get choked up whenever I arrive at work at the same time our truck drivers are pulling out of the loading docks to deliver food around the state. This place is amazing!

My favorite space is: My backyard.

Why? I have a great passion for animal rescue, and I have a menagerie of mutts and one sweet kitty that thinks she is a dog. Each got off to a bad start in life -- strays, a Dumpster rescue, and a puppy mill rescue that was so neglected he went blind and had to have his eyes removed. In my backyard, they are one happy family -- running and playing, fearless and free from whatever bad past led them to me. Nothing makes me happier than seeing my blind dog running and smiling (yes, dogs can smile!) with not a care in the world. I'm privileged they are in my life.

If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: Add more landscaping and a water feature with lights. I love lighted fountains. And I would have an abundance of outside toys and spaces specifically designed for the dogs. And, of course -- the cat!
