New exhibit opens at Templars center

A mixed-media exhibit that explores "the power of the narrative impulse" will open Friday at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center.

The exhibit, titled "I Walked on Water to My Homeland," features artworks by Delita Martin.

"These works capture oral traditions that are firmly based in factual events and bring them to life using layers of various printmaking, drawing, sewing, collage and printing techniques," a news release said.

An opening reception at 6 p.m. Friday will feature a talk about Martin, refreshments and live entertainment by Acoustix with Rod P. featuring Bijoux.
