A house in south Little Rock was destroyed by a fire Monday, authorities said.

Jason Weaver, a spokesman with the Little Rock Fire Department, said crews received the call to Wallpole Drive, northeast of Geyer Springs and Baseline Road, at 12:39 p.m.

He said all five residents of the home were out by the time firefighters arrived. No injuries were reported.

Crews were still hosing lingering bits of smoldering roof around 1:30 p.m. Through broken windows and an open door, it could be seen that a large portion of the one-story interior was charred and covered with collapsed pieces of the roof.

The fire marshal declared the home a total loss, Weaver said, and an investigation into the cause of fire is underway.

Around the back of the house, firefighters were alerted to a downed power line, but it was unclear if that may have caused the fire. Lines connecting houses often burn and fall off during large fires, Weaver said.

Entergy crews were called to close off the line.
