A witness dialed 911 at 11 a.m. Sunday after seeing a man with a TV flee from Aaron's in North Little Rock and jump into a sewer, according to a police report.

A responding officer found evidence that Aaron's was burglarized, so he went into the drain where he found a duffle bag, a pair of shoes and a 49-inch TV, the report said.

Walking farther into the sewer system, the officer found Johnny Tew, 44, who wasn't wearing shoes, the report said. Tew fled, but the officer caught up with him in another section of the tunnel, according to the report.

"What are you going to do?" Tew asked after the officer told him to stop and put his hands behind his back, the report said.

Tew took an "aggressive stance," so the officer deployed his stun gun, allowing him to arrest Tew, the report stated.

Tew, who the report listed as homeless, was charged with burglary, theft of property and fleeing after Aaron's video surveillance corroborated witnesses' accounts, police said.

He was being held in lieu of bond at the Pulaski County jail Sunday night.
