A second woman who was rushed to the hospital from a Little Rock house fire Monday later died from her injuries, officials said Tuesday.

Queen Johnson, 63, was identified as the second victim by Pulaski County Coroner Gerone Hobbs. The fire in the 2700 block of Fair Park Boulevard also claimed the life of 87-year-old Irma Johnson on Monday night, Hobbs said.

Sierra Tompkins, Queen's granddaughter and Irma's great-granddaughter, was at the home Tuesday afternoon going through belongings salvaged after the fire.

"I'm not really here right now. I'm just trying to [process]," she said.

Jewelry and other valuable possessions, including a pin Queen wore regularly to church at Greater Works Christian Church in Little Rock, were found in the home, Tompkins said.

"Ever since I was little, I've been to church my grandmother," she said. "I used to come over here every Sunday just to go to church with her. She just lived the right way."

Hobbs said a cause of death has not yet been determined.

Authorities said the fatal fire was one of three structure fires fought by the Little Rock Fire Department on Monday. No injures were reported in the other two fires.

Strong winds made fighting the fire at Fair Park Boulevard difficult after it was reported around 6:30 p.m., a spokesman told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

Windy and dry conditions have led to burn bans in 10 Arkansas counties, and the National Weather Service in Little Rock warned that fire conditions are heightened across the state.
