Woman tells police raped by solicitor

A North Little Rock man raped a woman at gunpoint after arranging to pay her in exchange for sex at a south Little Rock hotel, police said.

The 24-year-old victim initially told investigators that a 21-year-old man randomly knocked on her door Saturday afternoon at America's Best Value Inn & Suites at 7900 Scott Hamilton Drive.

Later, however, she admitted that the man contacted her through Backpage.com, a website commonly used to solicit sex, according to a police report.

After ensuring the two were alone in the room, the man forced the woman to have sex with him for 20 minutes at gunpoint, the report stated.

The man then made her go into the bathroom and fled the area with her cell phone and $300, the report said.

The woman said she did not know her attacker, but recognized him from a friend's Facebook post, the report said.

Police also observed the man enter and leave the victim's room on surveillance video, the report said.

Police had not arrested anyone Monday night.
