A homeowner in Melbourne reported that a Louisiana man who invited himself into the house Sunday to watch the Super Bowl stole $60 and a credit card from other guests before leaving, a spokesman from the Izard County sheriff's office said Wednesday.

Police responded at 10 p.m. Sunday to the home of Donnie Byram after guests Shane and Tonya Moser noticed their items were missing. Byram also reported that two rolls of quarters worth $20 collectively were taken from his truck parked outside the home, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

The man was later identified as James Allen Meche Jr., 34, of Church Point, La., after he used the credit card to buy gas at a Melbourne convenience store, spokesman Mindy Jones said. The card was also used to pay for a meal at a fast-food restaurant.

Police arrested Meche on Monday morning. Meche, who also has warrants out for his arrest in Louisiana, is charged with two counts of breaking or entering, theft of property and two counts of fraudulent use of a credit card. He is being held at the Izard County jail on a $20,000 bond.
