Arkansas Treasurer Dennis Milligan plans to seek charges against an attorney after the two had a physical altercation.
Milligan filed a police report Tuesday saying attorney Luther Sutter pushed him and caused him to have chest pains before a 9 a.m. deposition in a defamation lawsuit filed by a former treasurer's office employee. Sutter was representing the former employee.
The report filed with the Little Rock Police Department says Sutter entered the courtroom while on his cellphone and cursed as part of that telephone conversation. He then apologized to Milligan's wife, Tina.
Sutter and Milligan both said the incident then escalated, but they differ on their accounts of who initiated physical contact.
Sutter said he pushed the treasurer in self-defense.
