Bentonville teenager Thomas Stringfellow, who secured a spot in American Idol's top 24 last week, is among 12 contestants performing solos on Wednesday's episode.

Five of the contestants will be eliminated Thursday as the show continues to narrow down talent ahead of live performances and the opening of voting to viewers.

Stringfellow, 17, is also set to sing a duet with season 14 winner Nick Fradiani this week.

The other group of 12 will perform Feb. 17 on the singing competition, and the season's top 14 will be named Feb. 18.

Stringfellow is seen in a preview video posted Tuesday to the show's Facebook page introducing the male contestants on American Idol's 15th and final season.

"I may have been broken up with three days ago but now I'm in the top 24, so this is amazing. It's a dream come true," he said.

Facebook users earlier this week also got more of a glimpse into the personal lives of the contestants with a rapid-fire question-and-answer video.

That video included Stringfellow sharing his dream vacation destination: Israel.

American Idol airs at 7 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays on Fox.
