An Arkansas man who was caught on video slipping through the window of the Garland County jail and fleeing from a guard through the parking lot in 2013 has been sentenced to another 40 years in prison as part of a plea deal entered into court Wednesday.

Derrick Estell, 36, pleaded guilty to second-degree escape and received an enhanced sentence for four felony convictions dating back to 2000, according to a copy of his plea agreement.

His prison term will run concurrently with a 35-year federal sentence imposed after he pleaded guilty to a Hot Springs bank robbery and carjacking. He was in jail on those charges when he escaped, court records show.

Estell was arrested in the carjacking case in March 2013, and after being transferred to the Garland County jail for a court date that July, he made the escape that was captured on surveillance video.

He was arrested in Florida with his girlfriend a month later, the Hot Springs Sentinel-Record reported.
