Valentine’s Day Fundraiser
BATESVILLE — Love Bites II, a Valentine’s Day fundraiser to benefit the Old Independence Regional Museum, will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the museum, 380 S. Ninth St. The event will feature the best bite-sized sweet and savory treats from local cooks. Guests will have an opportunity to vote for their favorite treat, with the top three contestants receiving $200, $100 and $50, respectively. A $20 admission includes samples of each bite, 10 voting tickets and a take-home box. A $10 admission includes samples of each bite and five voting tickets. Additional voting tickets are $1 each. To-go boxes can also be purchased separately for $10.
Tea Party Meeting

Candidate Forum
CABOT — An open community candidate forum will be held at 6 p.m. at the Cabot National Guard Armory, 300 Commerce Park Drive. All U.S. Senate, state and local candidates will be invited to participate. The event is open to the public.
North Pulaski Retired Teachers Valentine Party
JACKSONVILLE — The North Pulaski Retired Teachers will have a valentine party at 1 p.m. at First Electric, 1000 S. JP Wright Loop Road. Attorney Coleman Westbrook of the Friday, Eldridge and Clark, LLP law firm in Little Rock will present the program, which is on estate planning. A Streetcar Named Desire Auditions
SEARCY— Auditions for A Streetcar Named Desire, by Tennessee Williams, will be held at 6:30 p.m. today and at 10 a.m. Saturday at Center on the Square, 219 W. Arch St. The play will be directed by Victoria Hargrove, a senior Harding University theater student. There are six female roles and six male roles. The main characters range in age from their 20s to 30s, with smaller roles ranging from teenagers to people in their 50s. Character descriptions will be available at the auditions, and script readings will be provided. The performance dates are April 8, 9, 15-17 and 22-24.

Exhibit Reception and Artist Talk
BATESVILLE — There will be a gallery reception and artist talk for the exhibit Observations: Work by Sheila and Allison Cantrell from 5-7 p.m. at the Batesville Area Arts Council Gallery on Main, 246 E. Valentine’s Workshop for Kids
BATESVILLE — A Valentine’s Workshop for Kids will be held at the Batesville Area Arts Council Gallery on Main, 246 E. Main St. Sessions will be from 10-11 a.m. for pre-K through first-grade students; from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for second- and third-graders; and from 1-2 p.m. for fourth- through sixth-graders. The cost is $10 per student, and preregistration is required. Leia Parks will guide students through Valentine’s Day-themed projects in these hour-long workshops.

BATESVILLE — The Travel Club of Citizens Bank will meet at 6 p.m. in the Community Room of the Citizens Bank Annex, at Third and College streets. Reservations are being accepted for the bank’s 10-day Shades of Ireland trip, scheduled for October. Presentation on Indonesia
BATESVILLE — The Lyon College Friends of the Mabee-Simpson Library will host a presentation by Martha Beck, professor of philosophy, at 7 p.m. in the library on campus. After a brief meeting about the Friends of the Library group and its mission, Beck will give a lecture reflecting on her time in Indonesia and discussing her experiences and the importance of Indonesia in the development of an interconnected global civilization. A reception will follow. The event is free and open to the public.
Cabot Farmers Market Summit Meeting
CABOT — The Cabot Farmers Market will conduct its annual summit meeting at 6 p.m. in the Community Room of Centennial Bank, 300 W. Main St., across from First Baptist Church. The summit provides a forum to bring together everyone’s ideas for making the farmers market bigger and better. The market dates will be set for the 2016 season. Beginner Word Processing Course
MOUNTAIN VIEW — Ozarka College in Mountain View will offer a three-week beginner-level word-processing course through Continuing Education from from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fridays, running Feb. 19 to March 4. Rotary Meat Sale

Photography Exhibit
BATESVILLE — The Kresge Gallery at Lyon College has opened the spring semester’s exhibition series with a photography exhibit by Lyon volleyball coach Ray Green through Feb. 26. Titled Road Trip, the exhibition features photographs taken by Green on various trips across the country. He explains in his artist statement that he stops a lot on trips and likes to capture details the typical tourist might overlook. The Kresge Gallery is in the Alphin Building on campus. The gallery’s hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Admission to the gallery is free, and the exhibit is open to the public.
The Fantasticks
SEARCY — Center on the Square Community Theater, 219 W. Arch Ave., will present The Fantasticks, directed by Mario Hofheinz, with Susan Bucher as musical director. The play is a funny, romantic musical about a boy, a girl and their fathers, who try to get the couple together by keeping them apart. The Biggest Loser Community Challenge
HIGHLAND — The Spring River Area Chamber of Commerce will present the eight-week Biggest Loser Community Challenge, an online health and wellness challenge, beginning Monday. The challenge seeks teams of four, for a $100 fee, for the national event, which will give away more than 10,000 prizes, including trips to the finale of The Biggest Loser television show in Los Angeles.
