Wreck fatal for 3 in Monroe County

Three Arkansans were killed Tuesday in a one-vehicle crash in Monroe County, Arkansas State Police reported.

Forrest Robinson, 44, of Marvell was driving a 2006 Saturn Vue south on Arkansas 1 when he failed to negotiate a curve and the vehicle ran off the road and struck a tree, according to state police.

Robinson and two passengers -- Vera Williams, 41, and Nicole Williams, 27, both of DeWitt -- were pronounced dead at the scene by Monroe County Coroner Bob Neal, state police said.

The wreck occurred about 3 miles north of where Arkansas 17 dead-ends into Arkansas 1 in southeast Monroe County, according to state police. The report doesn't specify what time the wreck occurred.

State police reported Friday that an Alexander man died Feb. 2 from injuries suffered in a three-vehicle wreck that occurred in late January in Little Rock.

Ken Shaw Jr., 39, of Alexander was driving a 1994 Jeep Wrangler south on Interstate 430 when the vehicle was rear-ended by a 2003 Nissan Altima, state police said. The Nissan also rear-ended a 2010 GMC SUV at the same time.

After the impact, the Jeep left the roadway and overturned, ejecting Shaw, according to state police.

The wreck occurred at 11:14 p.m. Jan. 29 at mile marker 4 on I-430, near the Colonel Glenn Road exit, state police reported.

Shaw was taken to Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, where he was pronounced dead Feb. 2, state police said.

Conditions were clear and the roads were dry at the time of both wrecks, according to state police.
