Softball wins on walk-off grand slam

Courtney Deifel picked up her first win as Arkansas' softball coach in style Friday.

The Razorbacks beat North Dakota State 8-4 with a walk-off grand slam by Shelby Heirs at the Texas Classic in Austin.

Arkansas trailed 4-3 entering the bottom of the seventh, but tied it up on an RBI-single by Nicole Schroeder.

The next two Razorbacks reached on a fielder's choice and walk to load the bases. After Madison Yannetti grounded into a fielder's choice, Heirs followed with a two-out walk-off grand slam.

The win improved Arkansas to 1-1 on the season.

The Razorbacks play two more games Saturday: against North Dakota State at 10 a.m. and Texas at 3:30 p.m. Both games will be aired on the Longhorn Network.
