A weekend storm is expected to bring wet weather and a light wintry mix to parts of Arkansas, the National Weather Service said Friday.

Updated forecasts show that a mix of light freezing rain and sleet could accumulate Sunday morning in less than a tenth of an inch of ice in the northernmost rows of counties, National Weather Service meteorologist Tabitha Clarke said. No snowfall is expected.

A online forecast by the National Weather Service said there was up to a 30 percent chance of freezing rain falling in Little Rock Sunday. Forecasters with the service said that can't be ruled out completely, but freezing rain is not expected south of Batesville.

Most of the state, including Little Rock and central Arkansas, are likely to see a light rain Saturday night through parts of Sunday before turning into heavier showers Monday, Clarke said.
