Relatives of the deceased woman found alongside a field road Friday have identified her as 41-year-old Stacey Devine, Jonesboro police said Sunday.

Detectives with the police department’s Criminal Investigation Division are continuing the investigation. Police spokesman Paul Holmes said the death is considered suspicious.

EARLIER:

Jonesboro police are trying to identify the body of a woman found alongside a field road just before 5 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Commerce Drive and Pacific Road, a spokesman for the police department said.

Police responded to the scene after a man walking his dog found the body along the road and called 911, spokesman Paul Holmes said.

The body had no identification and will be sent to the state medical examiner for an autopsy, he said. A suspected cause of death was not released.

Holmes said the woman was black and 30 to 40 years old with thinning hair and a number of tattoos.
