Officers responding to a call for help just after 4 p.m. went to the 1000 block of Gee Street, where they found Benjamin Hunter, 21, of Jonesboro naked and hurt, according to a news release from the Jonesboro Police Department.

Hunter told police he met a woman with whom he was acquainted at a parking lot in west Jonesboro and got into a vehicle with her. Two men then approached the vehicle, drew guns, beat Hunter and robbed him of money and his cellphone, according to the news release. They also forced him to remove his clothes, it said.

One of the men then drove the car away from the parking lot in the silver 2011 Chevrolet Impala that Hunter and the woman were in, according to the release. Hunter said he jumped from the moving vehicle on Gee Street, where police were called.

Initial reports indicated the woman was also a victim, but police later said they did not believe she was in danger. The woman is now being sought by police as a suspect, department spokesman Paul Holmes said.
